Cross-trained as a pastor and licensed psychotherapist, Magnuson served as university pastor/instructor at Northern Michigan University, Oregon State University and the University of Washington. As Director of Project Hope he provided mental health services for clergy and their families of Northern Great Lakes Synod of the ELCA and ordained members of the Marquette District of Michigan’s United Methodist Church.
