GREAT LAKES RECOVERY CENTERS, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
A long-established, respected leader in the mental health service community, the mission of Great Lakes Recovery Centers is to empower recovery through hope and change, by providing a variety of behavioral health services across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. GLRC provides both in-patient and out-patient services based on the most recent evidence-based treatment modalities. Known for its innovative programs among the more remote, rural populations of the Northern Great Lakes Basin, GLRC is certified through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
THE CEDAR TREE INSTITUTE
CTI is a nonprofit organization, based in Northern Michigan that provides services and initiates projects in the areas of mental health, interfaith collaboration, and environment. Along with retreats and training projects for hospice workers, clergy, and physicians, it has planted, since 1995 in partnership with regional tribes and faith communities, over 26,000 Northern white cedar trees across 15 counties of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. In 2022, the Institute received the Catalyst Award from the Marquette Community Foundation for its ongoing efforts with marginalized populations and damaged natural environments.
